Hi I’m Mel – owner and founder of Wildflour!
I have experimented with baking most of my adult life, I believe in balance and enjoy creating wholesome, nutritious snacks as well as comforting treats! Packaged food is not our thing, everything we make is from stratch using quality ingredients, without any additives. My passion always starts with ingredients and I love to support local suppliers with the same ethos, our eggs are locally laid and delivered by Nikkis Eggs, our macadamias are grown in Kati-Kati, natural chocolate from Solomons Gold, In the Flow Cacao, peanut butter from the legends at Fix & Fogg and we always try to buy NZ grown where possible. Wildflour began in 2019, trialing and creating the perfect cinnamon buns and wholesome bars in my home kitchen. It quickly grew from friends and family to stocking Tay Street Store and moving into a commercial kitchen space in Mount Maunganui. Today, I have the help of two amazing employees and our baking is available at local coffee shops, cafes and on our website. We have also just launched our jars of granola, which are available in local stores as well as online. It’s been such an exciting journey that I hope continues to evolve!
